EBT is the Hawaii Electronic Benefits Transfer Program that processes the need of financial assistance for the children through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The EBT is basically a debit card that processes the payments for the food benefits provided through ATMs directly deposited into the personal bank accounts. The payments are distributed and the food and cash benefits are provided to the needy people and families, aged persons, disabled persons, blind persons, for childcare and for employment and training purposes. The Hawaii Electronic Benefits Transfer Program is provided to the people on monthly basis with the benefit availability dates. Any of the retailers who wish to be a part of Hawaii EBT program must be registered and certified with the U. S. Department of Agriculture and Food and Nutrition Service.
