The DNR Illinois is also known as “The Illinois Department of Natural Resources”. It was named as Department of Natural Resources after the rearrangement of Illinois Department of Conservation by executive order in 1995. It is a cabinet level department of the state of Illinois in the United States.Its headquarter is located in the state capital of Springfield. State recreation areas, imposing the fishing and game laws, State Museum system and state parks are operated by DNR. It also regulates coal mines and oversees scientific research into water, mineral resources and soil of the state.
